One More Time

Being invited to the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic is a huge accomplishment and It takes hard work, dedication, and hot pre-season practices all four years. The Lobster Bowl brings over 150 student athletes and coaches across Maine to face each other on an East vs. West Matchup. The student athletes who are selected are high school seniors who are about to end their senior year. They are nominated to play this game by their coaches and the Maine athletics association. One lucky senior got nominated to represent Dexter Regional High School at this game. That Lucky senior is Zachary White. This year was a phenomenal year for Zachary White, he had 20 catches for 519 yards, 2-14 rushing yards, one 99 yard interception for a touchdown, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 forced fumble, and he also had 47 tackles. Also this year at the Little Ten Conference (LTC) Zachary got 1st team offense, 1st team defense, All academic, Player of the week for week eight, and Zachary got Player of the year nominee and he took 3rd. Zachary is playing as a defensive back for this game.
During the interview I had with Zachary I asked him what challenges would he be facing during the game and the week of practices. Zachary’s said “ I’ll be playing against people who are classes above me and have really good talent. I’m just looking to have some fun and I know there will be some rust because I haven’t played in a while.” After Zachary told me that, I asked him how much playing time do you think you will get ? Zachary responded saying “I think it will be spread out even cause there’s 150 players and I’ll have a decent amount of playing time”. As of right now the Lobster Bowl will be held on July 15,2017. We are closing in on that date fast and for Zachary he will have to be prepared mentally and physically. Also during the interview Zachary said “Physically I will be fine but at this point coming out of my senior year i will be ready”. At this game the competitiveness during the game will be roughty and everyone will be giving it their all because it could be their last game, and everyone wants to win. So for Zach he is going to have to be ready.
As Zachary closes in on his senior year he will start his spring sport baseball, But during baseball season he will be thinking about this game and working hard to perform better on the field. When baseball is over for Zachary he will have one more time to represent Dexter Regional High School in one more sporting event, and Zach is glad that it is football.
