The 2017/18 Boys’ Basketball season is looking like a rebuilding year for the Tigers. In the previous season, the Tigers made it to the semi-final game in the Northern Maine Tournament. Consequently, losing seven seniors from that team who all played an important role for the Tigers, will be hard to replace.
Head Coach Peter Murray was quoted by Eastern Maine Sports stating, “There are lots of new faces at the varsity level, only one returning letter winner from last season.” In addition, he stated, “Realistically, we could go 8-9 players deep, we had a strong JV team last season, those players will have to step up to the next level.” The Tigers finished last season 13-5.
The Tigers start their season off with 3 away games. Their season opener will be at Bangor Christian on December 9th. The Tigers would then have their game against PCHS which will be broadcast by Eastern Maine Sports, December 21st.
Playing for the varsity team this year will be senior leaders Matthew Richards, Matthew Hanscome, Jacob Bickford, Rui Cheng, Yukun Tang and Andrew Carlow. The juniors consists of Kobe Pillsbury, Trever Richards and Chris Fitzgerald. Rounding out the roster will be sophomores Cameron Paige, Nathan Richards and freshman Brett Kusnierz .
